From WaterTech Online:

SACRAMENTO, CA — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed bill AB 2222 on September 30, requiring the state’s water quality agency to address problems with contaminated drinking water, according to an October 1 article in the Salinas Californian.

The bill, written by Assemblymember Anna Caballero, D-Salinas, directs the State Water Resources Control Board to recommend policy solutions to the state Legislature that will address drinking water problems in areas that rely primarily on groundwater. The board has been monitoring groundwater since 2002, according to the article.

“The governor’s signature on AB 2222 means these communities will begin to get some answers about how to solve … contaminated drinking water,” Caballero is quoted as saying in the article.
